Shropshire Festivals and Artists Training Opportunities / Network Events
Shropshire Festivals Network Events - Spring 2010
As we battle on regardless through the economic downturn our thoughts are very much focussed on audience numbers and box office returns. So some questions for you ....
Do you want to increase audience numbers at your festival or event this year?
Do you have a local audience base, but would like to attract audiences from further afield?
Or perhaps you know who your audience is, but struggle to communicate with them?
We want to help you, and have arranged Festival Network events that offer to share marketing ideas and knowledge to help build your audience (and box office) and perhaps to introduce different ways of marketing. The Festival Network meetings come with that added essential ingredient - an opportunity to talk with other organisers about all sorts of good ideas.
Festival Network Events (three events in total) are organised by the Arts and Festivals Development Team at Shropshire Council and grant funded by RDPE and Shropshire and Telford Destination Partnership.
BOOKING (For any of the Festival network meetings)
Delegates will need to complete and return the booking form (attached below) by Monday 15th February. Please contact Mark Jones, for more details. Email: mark.jones@shropshire.gov.uk or Tel: 01743 255042.

An Introduction to Social Marketing for Festivals
Wednesday 17th February 2010 from 4.30pm-7.30pm at Discovery Centre, Craven Arms, Shropshire
So what can Facebook and Twitter and YouTube and all the other 100s social media sites do for you and your festival? Well quite a lot actually - and its all free (just takes a bit of time).
With bang up to date info and case studies on how to make social media work for you within your current portfolio of marketing communications this Network meeting makes it easier than you may think. We'll tell you about some successes, highlight one or two pitfalls, and give you the top 10 tips to start you off and inspire you to promote your festival in the social media world (and save paper to boot).
Light refreshment will be provided.
Audience Development Seminar and Workshop for Festivals and Art Organisations
